Auburn coach Gus Malzahn revealed that receiver Stanton Truitt will miss the remainder of the season because of a shoulder injury, according to Ryan Black of Auburn Undercover.
Truitt, a redshirt freshman, got hurt during the team’s quadruple-overtime loss to Arkansas two weeks ago and did not play against Ole Miss last Saturday. He will undergo surgery later this week and begin the recovery process shortly thereafter. The former 3-star recruit from Monroe, Ga., appeared in six games this season, catching one pass and carrying the ball six times.
Malzahn added that Truitt injured the same shoulder last year, which ended his 2014 season.
