After losing a commitment from dual-threat quarterback Lowell Narcisse in January, Auburn has turned its attention to another.
Four-star quarterback Kellen Mond of IMG Academy told SEC Country on Thursday that a visit to The Plains is in the works. The Baylor commit indicated that he’s been in conversations with offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee often. Lashlee visited with Mond three weeks ago in Bradenton, Fla., and the two have communicated almost daily since.
Mond, the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in 2017, has been committed to Baylor since June. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound quarterback appears to be surveying all of his options, though. He told SEC Country that Auburn and Clemson are neck-and-neck for his No. 2 spot.
The Tigers signed two dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2016 class in Woody Barrett and junior college prospect John Franklin III.
