Could a member of the Bo Jackson family be on his way to Auburn?
Based on a recent recruiting visit, it’d be best not to rule it out for Bo’s nephew Shedrick Jackson.
The Class of 2018 wide receiver prospect recently visited Auburn, where his uncle won a Heisman Trophy and the hearts of thousands upon thousands of Tigers fans, and he liked what he saw.
“I think they’d be one of my top 5 schools if I had them compiled like that,” Jackson said, according to a report from 247Sports reporter Evan McCullers. “I love it down here. It’s somewhere I’d definitely consider going.”
Shedrick, who visited The Plains on Saturday, told McCullers that he does not plan to ride the coattails of his famous uncle, and has not yet reached out to him as a part of the recruiting process.
“If I needed help, I would go to him for it,” he said, according to McCullers. “I know he’s always there to help me out.”
At 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, the wide receiver from Hoover (Ala.) is drawing attention from several SEC schools. He does not have an offer from Auburn yet, but does hold one from Mississippi State.
Entering just his junior season this fall, the young Jackson still has plenty of times to figure things out. Here’s a look at the highlights from his sophomore season:
