AUBURN, Ala. — Tray Bishop is headed to Auburn.
The four-star athlete, who is expected to play quarterback at Auburn, committed to the Tigers in an announcement on AuburnUndercover.com Monday morning.
Bishop is the No. 3 athlete in the country and is listed at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, according to 247Sports. The quarterback out of Terrell County in Georgia was being recruited as a defensive back by Florida.
The Tigers have 12 commitments with the addition of Bishop and defensive back Stephen Davis Jr. Eight of Auburn’s commitments are rated four-star prospects or higher.
“Gus Malzahn told me I am still coming here to Auburn as an athlete,” Bishop told Dawgnation’s Jeff Sentell. “But I’m going to get my shot at quarterback if I come here.”
Auburn’s recruiting class jumped five spots to No. 13 nationally after Bishop’s commitment.
