Even when it’s not on the football field, the Alabama-Auburn rivalry gets pretty intense.
And just like on the football field, Auburn hasn’t had a lot of luck in the Iron Bowl of Basketball, winning just 4 of 14 matchups since 2010 coming into Saturday. So when Auburn ran away with Saturday’s game, dominating the Crimson Tide 84-64, Tigers’ basketball coach Bruce Pearl didn’t let the moment go to waste.
Following the final buzzer, Pearl walked over to the stands near the student section, threw off his jacket, pounded his chest and then led the students in cheers, all captured in the video below.

In three seasons at the helm of Auburn, Pearl has amassed a 39-46 record but is having his best season to date with a 13-6 record. He’s two wins shy of tying his high for both conference wins and regular season wins in a season at Auburn.
