Cam Newton did not recover from a concussion in time to start Monday’s game against Tampa Bay, but Carolina Panthers fans shouldn’t be too concerned.
Newton was feeling well enough to be out among the masses in downtown Charlotte earlier in the day, as reported by veteran NFL writer Adam Schefter on Twitter.

Newton, who won the Heisman Trophy at Auburn, has had a rough start to the season, having been sacked 13 times and enduring numerous hard hits to the head. He has thrown for six touchdowns and five interceptions.
Seeing your franchise quarterback in such a vulnerable position in traffic without a helmet like that might create some nervous feelings in the Carolina front office.
