Cam Newton surprises cancer-stricken 10-year-old at Halloween party
The quarterback football fans have come to know as “Superman” played hero to a 10-year-old boy battling cancer on Friday night.
Former Auburn star and current Carolina Panthers starter Cam Newton drove to a Charlotte suburb to surprise Elijah Hughes, according to Travis Durkee of The Sporting News. Elijah, seen dressed up as The Joker below, is a young Auburn fan who celebrated Halloween a month early because doctors are unsure how much time he has left.
“It’s Cam Newton guys. He got us an ice-cream truck and brownies,” attendee Hansel Wei tweeted.
Newton’s act of selflessness surely made the night for Elijah, his family and the more than 100 other kids reportedly celebrating with him.
