Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd is no stranger to incendiary opinions. In fact, that’s basically his job: to cause controversy through what he says on his radio show. Current Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner at Auburn, is often someone Cowherd likes to single out.
He did it again earlier this week, criticizing Newton’s playing style by saying that “Running is the easier, lazier way to play QB.” Understandably, the Panthers were none too happy with that take, and shot back at Cowherd on Twitter:
"Hot takes are the easier, lazier way to cover sports" https://t.co/9T10vsdcIO

It’s difficult not to side with the Panthers on this argument, as Newton should have little left to prove as a player, having won the NFL MVP only two years ago. And yet, nothing seems to stop Cowherd from stirring up controversy whenever possible, even if it’s completely unnecessary.
