Auburn’s offensive coordinator search could bring in a familiar face.
The Tigers are in the market for a play-caller after Rhett Lashlee’s surprise departure. Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman reported Thursday that Arizona State offensive coordinator and former Auburn staffer Chip Lindsey is a possibility for the position.

Lindsey worked at Auburn as an offensive analyst under Gus Malzahn during the Tigers’ 2013 run to the national championship game. He just finished his first season on staff at Arizona State. Before that, he spent two seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Southern Miss.
Feldman’s report fits with earlier speculation that Auburn could be interested in Lindsey as a possible candidate. Meanwhile, multiple reports Thursday indicated former Baylor head coach Art Briles would not be considered.
