Dameyune Craig was let go by LSU after just one year as an assistant coach in Baton Rogue, but the former Auburn quarterback has landed on his feet with Jimbo Fisher at Florida State.
On Tuesday, Noles247.com’s Brendan Sonnone reported that an open records request revealed Craig will make just $8.10 per hour — the minimum wage in Florida — working for the Seminoles during the 2017 season. Craig joined the Florida State staff as an offensive quality control coach and offensive analyst after being fired by LSU coach Ed Orgeron as the Tigers WR coach following the 2016 season.
Don’t feel too badly for Craig, though, as he’s reportedly receiving the $575,000 he was owed from LSU for this upcoming season, according to the report, which was sourced by the The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger.
Prior to his brief stint at LSU, the former Auburn quarterback spent three seasons on the Plains (2013-15) as the Tigers co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.
