Former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton is dealing with a concussion.
As relayed by Pro Football Talk, the Carolina Panthers signal-caller has been diagnosed with the condition after receiving a big hit from Atlanta Falcons linebacker Deion Jones, a former LSU player, during Atlanta’s 48-33 victory Sunday at the Georgia Dome.
Cam Newton officially has been diagnosed with a concussion, according to the Panthers.

The hit looked rough, and it’s not a surprise to see this is the play’s result. Newton completed 14 of 25 passes for 165 yards with one touchdown, and he also ran for 30 yards on five carries. When Newton wasn’t playing, Derek Anderson went 17-of-23 passing for 172 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the losing effort.
