Former Auburn running back Tre Mason was arrested Tuesday night in Palm Beach, Fla., for allegedly fleeing police on an ATV in July.
The Palm Beach Post’s Olivia Hitchcock reported the arrest Wednesday. The alleged incident took place the afternoon of July 27.
Deputies with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said Mason was doing wheelies in a park and “tearing the place up.” When a deputy approached Mason, the NFL player allegedly sped off. Deputies pursued him to his home. The chase can be seen in this PBSO dashboard video.
A warrant was issued for Mason on Dec. 15. He was arrested Tuesday on a charge of fleeing and eluding without regard for others’ safety.
It’s the most recent legal trouble for the former Heisman finalist. In November, he pled no contest to three charges related to a March traffic stop in Los Angeles.
Mason is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Rams but did not play this season. He was placed on the NFL reserve/did not report list, and his family has reportedly been worried about his mental health.
