Former Auburn running back and current Los Angeles Rams backup Tre Mason was placed on the NFL’s reserve/did not report list on Saturday.
Mason has received visits from the police five times in the last four months following a March arrest, according to TMZ Sports. What is reportedly at issue is Mason’s mental health, considering a number of incidents involving bizarre behavior and angry outbursts by the third-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. The family fears for his personal safety, TMZ reports.
Mason was the 2013 SEC offensive player of the year after rushing for 1,816 yards and 23 touchdowns for an Auburn team that won the SEC championship and played for the national championship.
Mason, who turns 23 on Aug. 6, has 972 yards on 254 carries through two NFL seasons with the Rams.
