Former Auburn safety Markell Boston has found his new destination.
Boston will join the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team this fall, multiple sources told SEC Country.
The 6-foot, 200-pound defensive back was dismissed from Auburn prior to spring practice for failing to meet “team standards”, according to Gus Malzahn. At Auburn, Boston served as a reserve safety in the 2016 season. He redshirted in 2014 and didn’t receive varsity playing time in 2015.
Boston saw action in all 13 games for the Tigers and recorded 6 solo tackles.
The Newnan (Ga.) native was a 3-star prospect from East Coweta High School who de-committed from East Carolina and chose Auburn two days before National Signing Day in 2014. He was ranked the No. 100 athlete in the country by the 247Sports composite.
Boston will have two years of eligibility remaining and is expected to play for the Mocs this fall.
