Former Auburn RB Jovon Robinson will be playing college football at Division II Valdosta State this year, according to GridironNow.
Robinson is a senior and will be eligible to play for the Blazers this season. He is returning to the state of Georgia, where he played as a JUCO player at Georgia Military College.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn announced Aug. 3 that Robinson had been dismissed from the team. He did not give a specific reason for Robinson’s dismissal, but the tailback reportedly had conflicts with his Auburn teammates dating back to late May.
AL.com’s James Crepea reported that those conflicts came to a breaking point because of a fight at a party that Robinson and Auburn DB Marshall Taylor both attended. Taylor has not been at Auburn practices since camp began.
Robinson rushed 639 yards and three touchdowns in 2015, and averaged 5.5 yards per carry.
