William Smith brought some levity to a senate hearing surrounded by controversy Wednesday, closing his remarks with “War Eagle.”
Smith, a former aide to Sen. Jeff Sessions, testified on behalf of his former boss Wednesday. Sessions is President-Elect Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. Attorney General. Smith’s testimony was one of many during Sessions’ confirmation hearings this week.
The Auburn fan and former aide spoke highly of Sessions, even though the senator went to law school at Alabama. However, he couldn’t keep himself from showing some school pride at the end of his testimony.

Naturally, fans and media had some pretty funny reactions to Smith’s closing remarks.
As God intended… https://t.co/tJluYhTSvp
