There may be wet conditions for the Birmingham Bowl Wednesday, but Auburn will escape the elements for its Monday practice, the school announced.
Auburn was expected to practice outside at Hoover High School for the second consecutive day, but the team will instead practice indoors at Sports Blast in Birmingham, Ala. The post-practice media availability session was also cancelled.
Massive storms have caused flooding in the Birmingham area over the past few days, with thousands of residents reportedly losing power in the aftermath. As of now, there is an 80 percent chance of rain Wednesday when Auburn plays Memphis outdoors at Legion Field, according to weather.com.
Heavy thunderstorms and wind are expected in Birmingham Monday, but Auburn will visit the Alabama Children’s Hospital this afternoon before attending a team bowling event Monday night.
Much of the South has experienced unseasonably warm weather for this time of the year. With more rain expected Wednesday, Auburn and Memphis will have to put a premium on ball security.
