Kam Stutts is the biggest one of Auburn football’s expected early signees for the class of 2018, and he could have an equally sized role in the future of the Tigers’ offensive line.
Stutts, a 6-foot-4 offensive tackle from Brooks, Ala., has been committed to the Tigers since April. He signed with Auburn on Wednesday. He will enroll after he graduates from Brooks High School in May.
Here’s all you need to know about Auburn’s massive in-state offensive lineman in the class of 2018:
3-star T Kam Stutts
247Sports composite ranking: No. 62 tackle, No. 28 prospect in Alabama, No. 787 overall
Hometown: Killen, Ala.
Weight: 329 pounds
Offers: 12, including Iowa State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech
Commitment: April 8, 2017 (A-Day)
Where he fits at Auburn: Stutts is listed as a tackle, but he most likely will end up at guard before it’s all said and done at Auburn. He has the versatility to be one of those “swing players” for Herb Hand, who likes to mix and match up front. For a lineman nearly 330 pounds, he has an impressive amount of athleticism and agility. Stutts is also a state champion in the shot put, so you know he’ll bring plenty of strength to the trenches. Finally, his positive attitude is one that caught plenty of coaches’ attention on the recruiting trail. This in-state lineman could be a fan favorite in time on the Plains.
