Auburn linebacker T.J. Neal wasn’t pleased following his team’s loss Saturday.
After Auburn fell to Clemson at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Neal took to Twitter to vent his frustration about an apparent lack of playing time. The graduate transfer, who had 109 tackles for Illinois last season, only appeared in two special-teams plays for Auburn on Saturday.
Here was his reaction to the development, courtesy of James Crepea of AL.com:
Perhaps Neal expected more, but this isn’t the right way to go about his business. If anything, he’ll earn a spot in coach Gus Malzahn’s doghouse and find it harder to reach the field. He should have thought this through more.
It’s understandable that Neal feels like he should make a larger contribution. But he must do more to impress coaches during the week to make that happen.
