Any athlete or die hard fan will tell you that trash talk borders on an art form.
The receiver of the bad mouthing needs to be carefully researched, their background scraped for the tiniest bit of information that might get into their head.
One Krystal is clearly very well-versed in the music of the 1970s for their trash talk selection this week directed at the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Now for the explanation. The Commodores are Vanderbilt’s mascot, but they also share the same name as “The Commodores” a band from the 1970s.
One of their hits was called “Easy” which features the lyric “Easy like Sunday morning” just like the Krystal sign.
So there you have it, some wonderfully clever trash talk courtesy of Krystal and a song written by Lionel Ritchie which landed at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.
Now one has to wonder if this is bulletin board material for the Vanderbilt locker room, it might just make them hungrier for a victory.
