MIAMI — Robert Hicks knows the road to Auburn incredibly well.
The Class of 2018 defensive end has no plans to deviate from that path, either, as the Miami native remains “100 percent committed” to the Tigers heading into his junior season at Booker T. Washington. He attended Auburn’s satellite camp Friday morning in downtown Miami at Gibson Park.
Hicks, ranked the No. 6 weak-side defensive end in the country by 247Sports, finds himself recruiting fellow Booker T. Washington stars for the Class of 2017 and 2018.
Hicks plans to visit Auburn in July for a camp.
“His ability to lead has really stepped up and I think that is helping his game continue to grow to the next level,” Booker T. Washington coach Tim “Ice” Harris said. “Once you want to be a leader, you’re willing to learn, willing to sacrifice and put the team first. And that are you better all around. That’s helping him grow and understand the little things.”
What does Hicks like about Auburn?
“They’re just trying to get you to the next level, which is the NFL,” he said, adding: “They serve a lot of love to the players.”
