Auburn senior defensive back Josh Holsey has not played much this season and it appears that may continue.
Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp told multiple reporters that Holsey’s left knee injury, sustained in Saturday’s win against Jacksonville State, “doesn’t look good.” Holsey had an MRI and head coach Gus Malzahn will have an update on Tuesday.
The Fairburn native limped off in the first quarter of the game with the injury. This came after Holsey missed time the previous week with what the team called a tweaked knee.
Holsey is a three-year starter with Auburn. His experience would be missed in an Auburn secondary that had trouble defending Jacksonville State on Saturday.
Holsey has not recorded a tackle in minimal action this season.
