Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson likes what he sees from his teammates right now.
On Monday, after a spring workout, Johnson wrote on Twitter that “this TEAM will be special.” It’s obvious that the energy level during the session pleased the player, so it’s not a surprise that he would be eager to share his feelings.
If y'all seen our workout today……….this TEAM will be special

Of course, there’s much anticipation for Auburn entering the 2017 season. Quarterback Jarrett Stidham impressed during the Tigers’ spring game when he completed 16 of 20 passes for 267 yards. He’s a large reason why many expect big things from Auburn after the Tigers went 8-5 with a Sugar Bowl berth last season.
Johnson, meanwhile, ran for 895 yards with 11 touchdowns on 182 carries last year, which was his second campaign with the Tigers.
Next fall, so many will watch to see if Stidham can provide a spark for an offense that struggled at times in 2016. More offensive efficiency under new coordinator Chip Lindsey could lead to noticeable strides as Auburn tries to compete for an SEC West title once more.
Time will show if Auburn will indeed “be special.” But to Johnson, the early returns are promising.
