The pause button has been pressed on Malik Miller’s freshman season.
After suffering a leg injury in the third quarter of Saturday’s 58-7 win over Louisiana-Monroe, the freshman underwent knee surgery on Monday and is expected to miss about 4-6 weeks, according to 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello, who cited a source.
Miller rushed the ball nine times for 45 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, just the second game this season in which he received carries.
The Huntsville, Ala., native enrolled at Auburn in January ranked as a 3-star recruit and the nation’s No. 22 running back, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
