Cam Newton is facing a lawsuit for allegedly causing almost $100,000 in damage to a home he rented during the offseason.
TMZ Sports reports that Jared Pobre, husband of actress and former WWE star Stacy Keibler, is suing the former Auburn quarterback and reigning NFL MVP for damage he did to an $11 million Beverly Hills mansion managed by his rental company in the spring. Pobre is suing Newton for over $270,000 to pay for damages and rent lost while the house underwent two months of repairs.
The report says that Newton rented the mansion in March for 61 days for $123,000 and agreed to a no smoking policy and that he would have no more than eight guests.
The suit alleges that Newton broke that agreement by having multiple parties and leaving cigarette ashes around the house. He is also accused of breaking a refrigerator, leaving water damage and destroying a $32,000 rug.
