Former Auburn basketball guard Mustapha Heron has decided to transfer to St. John’s of the Big East to finish his collegiate career.

Heron was a star for the Tigers in 2017-18, averaging 16.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He helped to lead the team to an SEC regular-season title and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2003.
Initially putting his name in the NBA draft, Heron decided to return to school to be closer to home and his ailing mother. He is from Waterbury, Conn.
