Peyton Barber’s stint on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad was short-lived.
After being placed on the unit last Saturday, Barber was promoted to the Bucs’ 53-man roster after the team waived No. 3 running back Mike James, according to the Tampa Bay Times’ Greg Auman.
After redshirting his freshman season, Barber played two seasons at Auburn before opting to leave early for April’s NFL draft. He went undrafted before signing on with Tampa Bay as a free agent.
Barber rushed for 1,016 yards and 13 touchdowns last season with the Tigers.
