Former Auburn running back and current Los Angeles Rams backup Tre Mason has not yet reported to training camp, and now, we know where he is — at his mother’s home in Florida, according to a report from WPBF 25’s Terri Parker.
Parker reported that Mason has been spotted by neighbors in the front yard practicing football drills, but when asked whether he was going to report to training camp, Mason said, “no.”
A police report from July says Mason was admitted to a hospital and was “unable to make decisions for himself.”
Per a police report obtained by ESPN, Mason’s mother placed a call to Palm Beach Sheriff’s office and told them her son was “acting unusual and making irrational statements.”
The Rams reportedly have been unable to get in contact with Mason, and police have been to Mason’s house five times in the past four months. The 2014 third round pick was arrested in March on charges of reckless driving, marijuana possession and resisting arrest.
Mason was the 2013 SEC Player of the Year and helped lead the Tigers to a 2013 SEC Championship with over 1,800 yards and 23 touchdowns. Mason has rushed for 972 yards on 254 carries in his first two NFL seasons.
