AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn has added yet another former player to its support staff while promoting two long-time Gus Malzahn staffers.
The announcements were made at the start of spring practices in March, but represents the continuing theme of familiarity at Auburn.
Former Auburn defensive lineman Craig Sanders has joined the staff as a graduate assistant, joining former quarterback Jonathan Wallace, who was brought on board in January. Meanwhile, two graduate assistants have been promoted to full-time analysts: defensive graduate assistant Brandon Wheeling and offensive graduate assistant Johnny Brewer.
The moves were made in the wake of Austin Tucker’s addition to the staff as a graduate assistant in March. Tucker was the offensive coordinator at Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.) High, where he coached under Josh Floyd, one of Malzahn’s former quarterbacks.
