Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs assures us that Tigers football coach Gus Malzahn’s job is secure. But would that still be the case if these predictions came true?
The SEC Network continued its game-by-game analysis for each SEC school by tackling the Auburn Tigers on Tuesday evening. Former Alabama quarterback and former Arkansas quarterback Clint Stoerner went through the Tigers schedule and came away with a 6-6 record, which was the same as the team produced in a disappointing 2015 season.
With games against the teams in the 2015 national championship game to begin and end the regular season, the Tigers don’t have an easy road to an improved record in 2016. The projected victories come in the form of wins against all three non-Clemson non-conference opponents, as well as conference victories against Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
Here’s a complete look at the predictions:
Overall Record: 6-6 (3-5, SEC)
Sept. 3 vs. Clemson– Loss
Sept. 10 vs. Arkansas State– Win
Sept. 17 vs. Texas A&M– Win
Sept. 24 vs. LSU– Loss
Oct. 1 vs. UL-Monroe– Win
Oct. 8 at Mississippi State– Win
Oct. 22 vs. Arkansas– Loss
Oct. 29 vs. at Ole Miss– Loss
Nov. 5 vs. Vanderbilt– Win
Nov. 12 at Georgia– Loss
Nov. 19 vs. Alabama A&M– Win
Nov. 26 at Alabama– Loss
