Davis, who is a member of the Class of 2016 for recruiting purposes, chose not to sign a national letter of intent back in February due to what AL.com’s Wesley Sinor reported as a “family issue.”
The younger Davis, who lives in Irmo, S.C., was committed to play for the Tigers from August 2014 until Sept. 2015, but a season-ending knee injury reportedly required surgery on his ACL and MCL and threw a wrench into his recruiting.
Aside from Auburn, home-state South Carolina was believed to be another program interested in the 6-foot-4, 215-pound product of Dutch Fork High.
Davis rated as the No. 20 athlete in the country and the No. 7 player in the state of South Carolina, according to the 247Sports composite rankings for the 2016 recruiting class.
