Four-star dual-threat quarterback Kellen Mond hasn’t decommitted from Baylor, but it appears he has an SEC school on his radar.
Mond tweeted a photo Saturday night that might have Auburn fans a bit giddy.

Mond, who is playing for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., is rated as the No. 103 recruit nationally in the Class of 2017 and the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He committed to Baylor last June, but could be surveying other options in light of the sexual assault scandal in Waco, Texas that resulted in coach Art Briles’ firing.
It appears Auburn is in the thick of the race. The Tigers currently do not have a quarterback signed in its 2017 class and could use a major addition at the position after struggling behind senior Jeremy Johnson and sophomore Sean White last season. Mond’s dual-threat capabilities would make him an ideal fit in Gus Malzahn’s offense.
Mond has received 17 reported offers, including offers from UGA, LSU, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Miami and Clemson. If he does decide to decommit from Baylor, he will be one of the most highly-sought after 2017 recruits on the market.
