SEC fans sure do love weddings.
Well, as long as those weddings are not scheduled during the football season.
Auburn fans Eric Willms and Jennifer Bruce were married May 14 in Odessa, Fla., and their reception included a unique groom’s cake. Sure, you’ve seen dozens of wedding cakes replicating stadiums across the SEC, but have you ever seen one with a working video board?
Cake decorator Elise Garcia, an Auburn alum, put together this masterpiece on the Plains. The rendition of Jordan-Hare Stadium includes everything an Auburn diehard fan wants, including a working video board. Above the cake’s south end zone, where college football’s largest video scoreboard resides in the real stadium, is an iPhone replaying Auburn’s 22-19 victory against Oregon in the 2010 BCS National Championship.
The happy couple also was serenaded as they departed the Keystone United Methodist Church in Tampa with blue shakers, a chant of “War Eagle!” and a rendition of “Bodda Getta.”
