Paul James committed to Auburn less than a month ago, and the talented four-star defensive end is now officially a Tiger.
On Wednesday, the Copiah-Lincoln Community College prospect signed his letter of intent, he confirmed to SEC Country.
At 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, James is rated as the No. 1 weakside defensive end among all junior college athletes. He is the No. 15 prospect overall, per 247Sports.com.
In November, James spurned Mississippi State for Auburn. He garnered interest from several other schools, including Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas, among others. But he admitted the decision was never close — it was the Tigers from the start.
“I love the atmosphere,” James told SEC Country in a recent interview. “Them being a family and welcoming me with open arms and showing me I can be a successful person.”
James told SEC Country last month that he was being recruited primarily at the Buck position, a hybrid role that will allow him to rush the quarterback in a multitude of ways.
