HOOVER, Ala. — Gus Malzahn opened up — well, as much as the tight-lipped coach typically does — Monday about the mistakes he made last season and how he will fix everything in 2016.
This wasn’t the typical SEC Media Days appearance for the Auburn head coach, who never shies away from high expectations and talk of competing for an SEC and national title. No, this coach looked inward and admitted to his mistakes and how he may fix them. Simply put, he needs to be more of an X’s and O’s coach and less of a CEO. We’ve heard that before, but he spoke more about that and the Tigers’ offensive woes today at the start of SEC Media Days.
Plus, players opened up more about the need to prove critics wrong in 2016.
