Former Auburn quarterback and current Carolina Panthers star Cam Newton sure knows how to leave an impression on kids.
Per WSOC-TV in Charlotte, Newton was in Davidson, N.C., when he noticed a student wearing his No. 1 jersey on the Community School of Davidson’s playground.
That’s when Newton hopped the fence to throw the football around with students who absolutely could not believe what and who they were seeing.
“I saw one girl crying and hyperventilating and when I asked, ‘Sweetheart what’s wrong?’ she said, ‘That was just the best moment of my life,’” teacher Mimi Siadak told the TV station.
The encounter also included a group “dabbing” photo and Newton encouraging the students to heckle a teacher wearing Steelers gear.
Nothing like a visit from the hometown hero to brighten everyone’s day.
