Gus Malzahn is a hands-on coach, especially with his offense, but this spring has been particularly interesting for the fourth-year coach.
He hasn’t been afraid to mix it up with the quarterbacks and offensive line in individual drills, and every Tuesday this spring he has worked one-on-one with newcomer John Franklin III, the junior college transfer many believe will contend for the starting job at quarterback.
Check out Malzahn and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee working with Jeremy Johnson (6), Sean White (13), John Franklin III (5) and Devin Adams (16) while injured quarterback Tyler Queen watches from the sidelines.
You’ll hear a few coaching pointers from Lashlee and Malzahn, including correcting Franklin III after he made the wrong read on what should have been a touchdown.
Tuesday marked the final open viewing session for the media this spring. The Tigers practice again Thursday before conducting their annual A-Day scrimmage at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday. Fans can purchase tickets for $5.
