AUBURN, Ala. — In Auburn’s co-starting running back duo of Kerryon Johnson and Kamryn Pettway, the 240-pound Pettway is supposed to be the power rusher.
Don’t tell that to Johnson, though.
On Auburn’s touchdown drive late in the second quarter against LSU on Saturday night, Johnson lowered his shoulder to go right through the Bayou Bengals’ junior safety John Battle.
Former Auburn offensive lineman Cole Cubelic, who works as a sideline reporter for the SEC Network, posted the video of Johnson’s hit on Twitter:

The rushing play picked up 13 yards and a first down, giving more energy to an Auburn offense on its best drive of the first half.
Johnson, who had 67 yards of total offense on that drive alone, was stopped short of the end zone on a 4th-and-1 direct snap to end the drive.
Still, Johnson showed Auburn’s offense has plenty of life after a frustrating few weeks — and that he can bring the lumber for a 211-pound “scat back.”
