AUBURN, Ala. — No, that was not freshman cornerback John Broussard Jr. rushing the quarterback Saturday at Auburn’s A-Day game.
Linebacker/defensive end Jeffery Holland wore the No. 26 and lined up on the edge several times Saturday. It’s not known why he switched from No. 4 to No. 26, but it was a noticeable change when folks realized the size difference (nearly 80 pounds) between the rising sophomore and the man usually wearing the number.
Holland posted about the change in digits on Instagram as well.
Holland had 13 tackles, including one sack against Memphis in the Birmingham Bowl, as a true freshman in 2015. He played in all 13 games.
The Jacksonville, Fla., native was rated the No. 18 prospect in the state, according to 247Sports.
Broussard, who also wore No. 26 in the game, was credited with one tackle in the A-Day game when he stopped Chandler Cox on a 71-yard run.
