Every Georgia football transfer portal addition and loss this week

Fresh off a season-ending loss in New Orleans, UGA is already making major moves in the transfer portal. With that, Kirby Smart is moving fast to build Georgia’s 2026 roster.

The transfer portal now feels like free agency in college football. News is coming in fast for the Dawgs, with big-time transfers already committing. At the same time, several current players have announced plans to leave Athens, including a key two-year starter on defense.

This is the new reality of the portal era. It is no longer just backups looking for playing time. Georgia will lose starters every year, but it will also add transfers who can make an immediate impact.

Here’s a breakdown of every player Georgia has added and lost in the transfer portal this week.

UGA Players Who Have Entered the Transfer Portal

Transfer Portal Players Who Have Committed to UGA for 2026

The 6-4, 215-pound pass-catcher from Warner Robins, Georgia, had 480 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2025. Canion should be a key contributor as Georgia loses almost all 2025 WR production to the NFL. This includes Zachariah Branch.

Williams is the No. 30 player overall in the entire transfer portal, according to 247Sports. The former 5-star has two years of eligibility and will look to make an immediate impact.

Georgia’s newest transfer commit totaled 133 tackles, 6 INTs and 10 PBU in the last two seasons at ECU. Riddle was named first-team All-AAC in 2025.

Conley recorded 14 tackles and 1 FF in 2025. The 6-1 CB fits the UGA mold as he was known for giving it his all in run support at USC.

Georgia went into the week with one transfer commit already – S Khalil Barnes from Clemson. Barnes, a three-year starter, is a key addition for the Dawgs.

UGA has leaned heavily on transfers, especially over the past two seasons. Wide receiver Zachariah Branch is the best example. His impact in 2025 could not be overstated.

The USC transfer quickly became Georgia’s most important player. Many would argue he was the best player on the roster.

Kirby’s 2026 transfer portal class currently ranks No. 20 in the country early in the window, per 247Sports. It’s No. 40 in On3’s rankings.

The excitement of the offseason is just getting started. We will keep you posted!
