The Crimson Tide landed a commitment from 3-star shooting guard Herb Jones out of Hale County High School (Moundville, Ala.) on Thursday.

Jones becomes the first commit of the Crimson Tide’s 2017 class. He is ranked as the nation’s No. 36 shooting guard and the state of Alabama’s No. 6 overall player, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
The 6-foot-7, 183-pound guard held 10 offers and chose the Tide over Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Florida State, among others.
