GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida will likely have another defensive starter out Saturday against South Carolina.
UF coach Jim McElwain said defensive end CeCe Jefferson is “highly doubtful” for the game with a foot injury.
Jefferson was last Saturday at Arkansas. After that 31-10 loss, Jefferson addressed the players in the locker room and urged them to stick together with games still left to play.
“It was big,” safety Marcus Maye said of Jefferson’s message. “He just basically told us we’ve still got to keep working. We can’t fall apart.”
McElwain said there’s a possibility wide receivers Tyrie Cleveland (ankle) and Chris Thompson (concussion) could play against the Gamecocks.
Quarterback Luke Del Rio (shoulder), center Cam Dillard (knee), receiver C.J. Worton (ankle) and linebackers Alex Anzalone (arm) and Jarrad Davis (ankle) are all out.
