When a big national broadcast such as SEC on CBS comes in to call a game, the broadcasters usually sit down and talk with coaches to get a better feel and grasp on their team.
In turn, this helps the broadcasters call a more informed game. CBS broadcaster Brad Nessler pulled an interesting quote out of his pocket on Saturday from Florida head coach Jim McElwain.
Brad Nessler just said McElwain told him regarding suspensions: "I've tried to cover it up, but it's really hurt the locker room."

McElwain deserves the benefit of the doubt here, he wouldn’t admit to some elaborate cover-up scheme. Logic says he simply meant that he was attempting to make the team forget about the suspensions. He wanted to sweep it under the rug to try and move forward with the rest of the season.
It was a misspeak. Believe Nessler was attempting to say that McElwain tried to make it a non-issue with the team but failed to do so. https://t.co/XXNBHg2d03

The interesting bit of this is that McElwain isn’t shy about admitting the suspensions have hurt the locker room. It’s still up in the air whether that means team chemistry or attitude, but the impact has been felt on the field as well. Now it’s clear the Gators are feeling it off the field, too.
