The 6-foot, 194-pound prospect chose Florida over Arkansas, Arizona State and TCU. He held 40 total offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, LSU and Michigan.
Stewart almost committed to UF after attending Friday Night Lights on July 23, but held off because he wanted to take official visits.
Cornerback is the No. 1 priority for the Gators in this recruiting cycle, and Stewart was one of their top targets.
He joins Shawn Davis and Marco Wilson in Florida’s cornerback class and lessens the blow of Elijah Blades’ de-commitment on Wednesday.
Stewart will be just the second Louisiana recruit to sign with UF since 2001.
Orlando linebacker Nick Smith also pledged to the Gators on Saturday. They now have 16 commitments in their 2017 class, which is ranked No. 22 nationally in the 247Sports composite.
