Former Florida QB Danny Wuerffel is full of opinions on the current crop on Gators.
After weighing in on Florida kicker Eddy Pineiro, the former Heisman Trophy winner shared his thoughts on quarterback Luke Del Rio. Based on Wuerffel’s tweet, he thought Del Rio played well in Saturday’s 24-7 opening win vs. Massachusetts.

Wuerffel, along with other members of the 1996 national championship team, attended the game to honor their former coach, Steve Spurrier. In addition to being the 20-year anniversary of the team’s national championship, it is also the 20-year anniversary of Wuerffel’s Heisman Trophy-winning season.
Del Rio threw the ball 44 times, completing 29 of them for 256 yards and two touchdowns. Florida hosts Kentucky next Saturday. The Gators have won 29 consecutive contests against the Wildcats — the longest consecutive win streak in SEC history.
