The defending champion Denver Broncos need a new quarterback to lead the title defense after Peyton Manning retired and backup Brock Osweiler went to Houston. A small contingency of fans would like that leader to be Tim Tebow.
Done laughing hysterically? Because it’s true. A petition to bring Tebow back to Denver has gotten nearly 10,000 signatures, according to The Big Lead. The former first-round pick turned SEC Network analyst spent two seasons in Denver and went 8-6 in 14 starts with the team.
Tebow also has a playoff win under his belt and it came on an incredible 80-yard touchdown pass on the first play of overtime in the 2008 Wild Card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Perhaps Broncos fans want to relive the glory of “Tebow Time,” while the Broncos attempt to retain the Super Bowl crown. Unfortunately, that likely won’t happen as the Broncos spent their first-round pick on Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch.
