Devin Robinson has played his final basketball game for the Florida Gators.
According to Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports, Robinson will sign with an agent and declare for the NBA draft, thus ending his his college eligibility.
Robinson confirmed his decision via Instagram. He wrote:
“This decision was not easy for me; in fact, it was one of the hardest decisions I have ever faced. I know I am ready for this next step and I am personally excited for all the new challenges that will be presented with this decision.”
Shortly after the Gators season ended in the Elite Eight, Florida coach Mike White said that he didn’t expect for Robinson to return.
“I think that Devin, with this being his second go-round pursuing this thing, I think that it may be difficult for him to not follow through this year,” White said. “But we’ll find out soon enough. And of course we want for Devin what Devin wants for Devin. And we’re going to support him anyway we can.”
As a junior, Robinson averaged 11.1 points per game and 6.1 rebounds. Draft Express pegs him as a second-round pick.
