ESPN experts give predictions on Florida-Florida State outcome
ESPN’s College GameDay set up shop in Stillwater, Okla. while SEC Nation broadcasted live from Auburn, Ala. ahead of the annual Iron Bowl.
Yet both crews maintained a level of interest for the Florida-Florida State tilt set for Saturday night.
ESPN’s GameDay crew went heavy on Florida State getting the best of the Gators.
David Pollack: “Florida’s offense is near the bottom. I like Dalvin Cook to make enough plays and one more play to win the game.” — Florida State
Rickie Fowler: “My buddy is a diehard Gators fan. For that, Florida State.”
Lee Corso: “They win by a field goal.” — Florida State
Of course, Herbstreit went with the underdog.
Kirk Herbstreit: “I’m going Florida at home with the defense creating turnovers to give that struggling offense a short field.”
SEC Nation’s crew was more split in their predictions, with alum Tim Tebow and Paul Finebaum leaning toward Florida and the rest siding with the Seminoles.
Tim Tebow: “They have to stop Dalvin Cook, especially before he gets going. I think they do it and win a close one in The Swamp.”
Marcus Spears: “Last year, the difference was turnovers. The quarterback was Treon Harris. Dalvin Cook has enough ability, and Jonathan Bullard being questionable bothers me.”
Greg McElroy: “Injuries to the front seven and the left side of the offensive line being banged up, I don’t think they’re good enough offensively. ‘Noles get it done.”
Paul Finebaum: “I want to attempt the Gator chomp. The Gators win.”
