ESPN’s Danny Kanell makes fun of Florida fans
Former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell took a shot at Florida fans via Twitter before the Florida-Florida State game on Saturday.
Here we go baby.. It's rivalry week. Time for Dalvin Cook to finally get that national respect. Today's the day to earn in in Jortville!!

Florida (10-1) hosts Florida State (9-2) in at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Kanell, who is now an analyst for ESPN, was making a reference to jean shorts. It’s a common way of insulting Florida fans.
Kanell’s reference to Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is likely a reaction to Cook being considered a long shot to win the Heisman Trophy despite a strong season. USA Today’s Heisman Survey places him fourth in voting projections behind Alabama running back Derrick Henry, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey.
Some of Kanell’s most memorable games came against the Gators. He was part of the “Choke at Doak” game in which the Seminoles scored 28 unanswered fourth quarter points at home to tie Florida 31-31. He was a part of the rematch later that season known as “The Fifth Quarter in the French Quarter” in which the Seminoles beat 23-17 in the Sugar Bowl.
