Ex-Florida QB Jeff Driskel starts strong against Mississippi State
Louisiana Tech quarterback Jeff Driskel beat seven SEC opponents as the starting quarterback at Florida in the 2012 season. He didn’t defeat this week’s SEC opponent, Mississippi State, but played very well in the loss.
Driskel threw for 303 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, which proved costly as it was returned for a touchdown in the second half. Still, Driskel had plenty of success against the Mississippi State defense at times, particularly in the first quarter. He threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns on the first two drives of the game.
Saturday was Driskel’s fourth multiple touchdown game of the season. Even though he led the Gators to a 11-2 record as a starter in 2012, Driskel had just two multi-touchdown games that season. The Louisiana Tech Twitter account compared Driskel’s production with his current team with what he did for the Gators.
